What you can do with the quote link a shop sent you
The link opens a quote page from the shop that sent it, with no sign-in. You can pick a quantity break, choose an expedite, add optional items, decline lines, download the PDF, share your selections and accept with your name, email, title and PO. Accepting freezes the document; the shop then confirms the order the way it always has.
Where the link comes from and what the page shows
A manufacturer that uses VenturusEQ sends its quotes as a link rather than only a PDF attachment. The email comes from the shop's own mailbox, or the shop sends the link by its usual route, and the link opens a page that belongs to that shop and shows that quote: the lines, the quantities and prices they offered, any options, their terms and the date the prices are valid until.
The page is read-only until you choose something. Every choice you make is reflected on the page, and nothing is sent to the shop until you press accept. If you close the page, nothing has happened.
VenturusEQ is the software the shop uses to build and send the quote. It is not a marketplace and it does not sit between you and the shop; the price, the terms and the follow-up are the shop's.

Pick a quantity break
Where the shop offered prices at several quantities, choose the one you want. The prices for that break are shown the way the shop chose to display them.
Choose an expedite
If the shop offers faster delivery at a premium, the options are listed with their days and their effect on the price. Choose one or leave the standard lead time.
Add optional items
Some lines carry add-ons the shop marked as optional, such as an extra certification. Required add-ons are already in the price; optional ones are yours to tick.
Decline a line
Take some lines and not others. A declined line is recorded as declined on the acceptance so both sides know what was and was not ordered.
Download and share
Download the quote as a PDF at any time. Share your selections with a colleague who needs to review them before you accept.
Accept
Enter your name, email, title and PO number and accept. The document freezes with your selections and totals, and you can download the accepted document as a PDF.
What happens after you press accept

A line-by-line snapshot with your selections, the totals, your identity, your PO and your consent is written and cannot be edited afterward by either side.
The shop is notified
The acceptance appears on the quote inside the shop's system, with what you chose and what you declined.
The shop awards the work
Acceptance is not an order confirmation. A person at the shop awards the quote, which is the step that turns it into work, and confirms with you as they always have.
What the shop sees, and what it does not
The shop sees that the quote was viewed, how many times, and when it was last viewed. That is all. The page stores salted hashes for those counts, never a raw IP address or a browser signature, so the view record cannot be traced back to a person or a device.
Your name, email, title and PO number are stored only when you accept, and only on the acceptance. Every failure on the page shows the same neutral message, and the page limits how often a link can be opened or accepted.
If you were told the quote cannot be sent as a link
A quote that carries controlled data is never given a public link. The shop will send it another way, and any file you download from them may carry a watermark with the recipient, the time and a hash.
Common questions
Do I need an account to open the quote?
No. The link opens a signed-out page from the shop that sent it. Nothing is installed and no password is created. Your name, email, title and PO number are asked for only when you accept.
Is accepting the quote the same as placing an order?
No. Accepting records your selections, your identity and your PO on a frozen document that both you and the shop keep, and there is no payment step on the page. The shop's staff then award the work, confirm it with you and invoice the way they always have.
Can I accept some lines and not others?
Yes. You can decline individual lines, pick one of the quantity breaks the shop offered, choose an expedite if one is offered, and add optional items. The totals update on the page before you accept.
The link says the quote has expired. What now?
Prices are valid until the date on the quote. After that the page will not accept, but it lets you request an updated quote in your own words. The shop's estimators see your message and can send a new revision.
